WebCapital is a venture capital company which was incorporated on 24 January 2001 with a fully paid capital contribution of €3 million. The fund has private and institutional investors such as Catalana Occidente, Ges Seguros and Corsabe, family groups and the Riva y García Financial Group. WebCapital has been one of the pioneering technology funds in Spain, with particular emphasis on Spin-offs from university and research centres.
WebCapital SCR is a venture capital fund which completed its investment process in 2006. The sectors that WebCapital considers to be the most attractive for its investments are application software, security and biometrics. Fund investments have been made in companies or projects with high value potential, providing the financing and the support necessary for these companies to become leaders in their market in the years following the investment.
WebCapital has invested in technology sector companies or projects in the initial phase, including both the seed as start-up phases, which had or intended to build in-house state-of-the-art technology which differentiated them from other companies in the sector. WebCapital has focused its investments on sectors with a high technology value and high forecast growth.
